This is not an accessibility statement solely for compliance. This website was developed by Jessica Oddi with the core belief that Access is Love — project by Alice Wong, Mia Mingus, and Sandy Ho. Our page outlines the development of the site, our testing, and a call for community feedback.

Please note that third party plugins (such as the cookie consent and podcast feed) may not be entirely be accessible for every user.

WooCommerce has been added with basic style integrations and limited back-end controls. However built-in block elements and functions have not been developed in the theme. There may be accessibility barriers until we can create a fully custom WooCommerce experience.

Jessica Oddi made this WordPress website as a custom theme, based on the Underscores starter theme in November of 2024. We follow WCAG 2.2 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) as a base, as much as possible within the original design.

Practices from the Disabled community were followed. Image descriptions, layouts with ample padding, and a custom accessibility menu. Don’t worry, no ableist overlays were used to make it, just Jessica’s tiny Muscular Dystrophy hands and her code.

Developer Testing

Jess tested the site with the following accessibility practices and devices:

  • Browsers and Devices: Chrome and Safari on macOS Sonoma. Microsoft Edge on Windows 11. Chrome on a Samsung Galaxy S24 Pro. Safari on Mama Oddi’s iPhone and iPad (thanks Mom!).
  • Assistive Tech: VoiceOver, Voice Control, Narrator, and TalkBack.
  • Manual: Keyboard-only navigation and zoom.
